SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR EXISTING BUSINESSVISION 2000
Forms (Cheques, Invoices, Purchase Orders etc.)
- BusinessVision 32 SQL's report and form printing capabilities
differ substantially from those in your existing
BusinessVision system. BusinessVision 32 SQL ships with the
Crystal Reports "run-time", and comes pre-loaded with a number of
pre-designed business forms (invoices, statements, cheques, etc)
for various printers.
- It is possible that your existing business forms may not align
with these default forms. This is particularly true of forms less
than 11 inches in length, such as cheques and statements
(especially if you are using dot matrix printers). If you wish to
continue using your existing forms, you will need to create your
own custom forms design using the Crystal Report Writer.
- Although BusinessVision 32 SQL ships with the Crystal Report Writer
run-time, you will need to purchase the full Crystal Report
Writer System (MBS INC. has this software in house) to enable
you to make any changes to your form layouts.
Using Crystal Report Writer you can embed logos, graphics and
watermarks on your forms, and you can customize the format and
content of your reports, allowing for a truly professional look.
Other Considerations:
- Windows 98 or higher is required to run BusinessVision 32 SQL
Client Server Edition.
- Concurrent use of BusinessVision 32 SQL with BusinessVision 2000 is
not supported. Once you have converted your data files, access
using BusinessVision 2000 is no longer possible.
- Existing BusinessVision data files will be expanded substantially
upon conversion to SQL (more than double), so it is essential that
your hardware has sufficient disk space to support this increase.
- Computer monitors must be able to accommodate a resolution of 800
by 600 or higher.
- When using SQL in a multi-user environment, a dedicated file
server is required. (We have always strongly recommended this
to our users)
